Watercolour Demonstration by Julia Duerden to link with her exhibition ‘Imaginarium and Other Stories’
Join us for a wonderful afternoon of Watercolour this Saturday!
Julia Duerden is going to work her magic with watercolour here at Chester Art Centre throughout the afternoon and is happy to share her knowledge and run us through the creative process behind her artwork.
‘Watercolour lends itself to a variety of subjects – abstract, imaginary compositions, local scenes around Chester and the Wirral, townscapes and landscapes from many parts of the country’.
Colour, tone and form are paramount, the watercolour creating its own pathway on the paper… This painting style is very much Julia’s own and has proved popular in solo exhibitions and numerous galleries.
Originally from Barrowford, Lancashire, a small village near Pendle Hill and home of the Lancashire witches, Julia has lived on the Wirral for over 40 years. She has been painting for as long as she can remember, developing her original approach using watercolour and inks. Her eclectic style forms a mix of contemporary and traditional work.
Julia’s current exhibition ‘Imaginarium and Other Stories’ runs until next week, 14 September.
We look forward to see you here for the demonstration on Saturday!
